The Che Guevara Trail
Follow in the footsteps of a revolutionary! The Ruta Del Che is a truly unique and fascinating tour. Forty Years ago ‘Ernesto’ Che Guevara’s crusade to unite the whole of South America came to an abrupt end behind a school house in a little known village called La Higuera. Guevara and many of his guerilla army were captured in the nearby jungle and executed in this town. His body was then flown by helicopter to Valle Grande to be photographed and formally identified. On this tour you will travel to Valle Grande the main town of the region and ‘Che’s’ supply depot during his guerilla war. You will have guided tours of the Museums and significant sites and points of interest on the route. These will include the site where up until recently Che was buried, (his body has since been returned to Cuba), The laundry room were Che’s body was laid out to be Photographed, The School House, and both Museums.
